Formed in February 2008 by Turino Fuad and Les Lockrem, VINX International, Inc. has forged alliances with wineries in appellations across California ranging as far South as Ceres in the Central Valley to Amador County in the East to the infamous Napa Valley in the West. Since VINX’ inception, the owners have carefully selected those wineries which share the same long term vision, passion and dedication towards influencing wine consumption in the Pacific Rim. They are often quoted as saying, “we are not in the business of shipping cases” but rather in effecting true growth in Asia’s burgeoning wine culture by delivering great wine “Experiences” and Values.
The company’s ongoing mission is to locate wine lovers through out Asia who share the same passion to find that next “Hidden Wine Gem”. The first step towards this mission was established in Hong Kong in August when the inaugural tastings and membership of the Eureka Wine Club was established. This club, which now boasts 40+ members, seeks to bring to Hong Kong wines of excellence and value from California. The club seeks to build brand recognition through members from the local business community. Like the club name implies, Eureka was formed with the owner’s passions for undiscovered California wines of quality and distinction. Through wine club and public tastings along with winemaker dinners and trade functions, the company seeks to build a greater interest for California wines throughout the Pacific Rim.
The two owners share a background in Finance. Turino Fuad most recently has served as a CPA and Chief Financial Officer for a marketing and employee benefits company. Les Lockrem as Director of Finance for six of Constellation wines properties including Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi and Ravenswood Winery. Les spends his spare time as the event coordinator for a Sierra Foothills winery in California. These roles coupled with extensive travel among California’s many appellations yield an appreciation and understanding of the states evolving wine market. Both have a combined 47 plus years of experience in International business. Their friendship and passion to deliver great value wines that pair well with world cuisines provided the impetus to create VINX International, Inc. - To connect the passion of the California wine industry to those fellow wine lovers across the World.
